As the school year comes to a close each spring, it means that National Teacher Appreciation Day is on its way.
Also known as National Teacher Day, this holiday falls on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 as part of an annual week-long celebration of the amazing work that teachers do each day. As early as the 1940s, U.S. politicians and educational leaders began discussing the need for a national day to honor teachers, and in 1953, Eleanor Roosevelt persuaded Congress to proclaim a National Teacher Day. She wrote:
“I have always felt that we did not give an honorable enough place in our communities to the teachers. Next to parents they are the most important people in our communities. It is quite impossible to give teachers monetary compensation alone that will repay for their devotion to the job and the love that must go to each and every child. But I think we could compensate a little more adequately the teachers in our communities if we were conscious of their importance.”
I believe that teachers play a very important role in society, and that they don’t always get the credit or appreciation that they deserve. I believe that teaching is a work of love, and teachers need to be shown some love in return for all they do. That’s why I’ve created a new soap dedicated to the amazing teachers of the world, just in time for National Teacher Appreciation Day. (Although it will be available year round, because teachers deserve recognition all year long!)
This new Teacher Appreciation Soap comes ready for gifting, and it features my premium double butter recipe, with cocoa butter and shea butter, plus olive oil and coconut oil to lock in moisture. This handcrafted soap is all natural and full of organic herbs like calendula, lavender, rosemary, and chamomile, to relax and soothe a teacher’s soul. Scented with lavender and peppermint essential oils, this soap makes a much better teacher’s gift than a boring apple!
Pair it with a hand-written note, including one of these famous quotes about teachers, and let your favorite teacher know how much you care!
